Kochi Metro Rail Project Phase I, in Kerala, is likely to be operationalised by November 2016. The project involves the development of 36.78 km of the metro rail network at an estimated cost of Rs 71.37 billion. Upon completion, the metro system will connect Aluva to Petta, through a network of 23 elevated stations. For project implementation, an SPV – Kochi Metro Rail Limited – has been formed by the central government and the Kerala government.
