CCEA approves implementation of the Ranchi (Hatia)-Bondamunda Line Doubling Project

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the implementation of the Ranchi (Hatia)-Bondamunda Line Doubling Project in Jharkhand and the Kiul-Gaya Line Doubling Project in Bihar. The Ranchi (Hatia)-Bondamunda Line Doubling Project involves doubling of the 158.5 km Ranchi (Hatia) railway line in Jharkhand at a cost of Rs 19.22 billion and is likely to be completed by 2021. The project will augment line capacity of the section and serve freight traffic needs of the upcoming super TPP at Barh and the Katni and Barauni TPPs. The primary groundwork for the project is expected to begin this year. The Kiul-Gaya Line Doubling Project involves doubling of the 124 km Kiul-Gaya railway line in Bihar at a cost of Rs 13.54 billion. The project is likely to be completed by 2019-20.
