The Ministry of Coal (MoC) had accorded permission to SPL to augment coal production from its Moher and Moher Amlohri extension coal mines to 17.2 mtpa during 2015-16. Earlier, in June 2015, the MoC had directed SPL to limit annual coal production to 16 mtpa. Meanwhile, the deallocation of the Chhatrasal coal mine in May 2015 remains unrevoked.
