ONGC discovers gas deposits on Mizoram Assam border

ONGC has found hydrocarbon (gas) deposits in the Meidum area, Kolasib district, on the Mizoram-Assam border. As of now, ONGC has predicted that 552,674 standard cubic feet of gas per day could be available from the Meidum exploration site. Four oil giants were involved in the oil exploration venture. Of these, Reliance Industries Limited was axed for not undertaking exploration works.The Directorate General of Hydrocarbons will soon float another global tender to choose companies to take up exploration in the southern parts of the state.
