The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has invited tenders for the appointment of a project management consultant to undertake expansion of the Srinagar International Airport (SIA) in order to accommodate a greater number of aircraft. An additional capacity of 33,000 square metres will be added to the international departure side of the terminal. Meanwhile, infrastructure for the operation of night landing facilities at the airport is ready. Besides, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has launched Wi-Fi hotspot services at SIA.
