Lucknow and Amritsar airports achieved CAT II operations compliance on December 17, 2015. This will enable low visibility take-off with a runway visual range (RVR) of 125 metres and landing with RVR capability of 300 metres at these airports. AAI had earlier planned to upgrade Jaipur, Lucknow and Amritsar airports to CAT III B from the current winter season. However, the airports have been missing deadlines. The facility will now be operational by 2016.
