HNPCL commissions a 1,040 MW coal-based power plant in Andhra Pradesh

Hinduja National Power Corporation Limited (HNPCL) has commissioned a 1,040 MW coal-based power plant in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The plant has two units of 520 MW each. The project, with a cost of $1.25 billion, has been funded by a consortium of 15 banks, led by the State Bank of India. The entire power generated from the plant is supplied to Southern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited and Eastern Power Distribution Company of Andhra Pradesh Limited. HNPCL is sourcing coal for the plant from Mahanadi Coalfields Limited.
