IR has decided to conduct trials of Talgo coaches in order to increase the speed of express trains. Speed trials were conducted on the Bareilly-Moradabad section of Northern Railway up to speeds of 115 kmph. In August 2016, two trials up to a test speed of 180 kmph were conducted on the Mathura-Palwal section. All the trials were found to be successful.
