Telenor India has announced that it will not participate in the upcoming spectrum auctions in the country. The move is reportedly aimed at signalling the operator’s intention of exiting the Indian market where it has been making losses and has struggled to expand operations. Telenor India currently has 4G airwaves in the 1800 MHz spectrum band in seven circles but offers 2G services in six of them – Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh (East), Uttar Pradesh (West), Bihar, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
