The MoP has launched a mobile app, the Transmission App for Real-time Monitoring and Growth (TARANG), for improving transparency in the transmission segment. TARANG is a monitoring tool that tracks the upcoming interstate and intra-state transmission projects being developed through the regulated tariff mechanism and the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route. Further, it will include the status of stalled/delayed transmission projects as well as green energy corridors. Along with TARANG, the MoP has also launched e-Trans, a portal for the electronic bidding of TBCB transmission projects. This is in line with the government’s plans to introduce an e-reverse auction mechanism for transmission projects, along the lines of the reverse coal block auction.
