The Border Roads Organisation has inaugurated two new bridges over the Chandra river under the Manali-Sarchu-Leh Road Improvement Project on NH-3. These are the 70 metre Koksar Bridge I, built at a cost of Rs 80 million; and the 30 metre Koksar Bridge II, built at a cost of Rs 20 million. The project involves the construction/improvement of a 107.5 km stretch of the Manali-Sarchu-Leh road from CL-9 specifications to NHDL specifications from km 13 to km 31, km 185 to km 195 and km 224.89 to km 304.39 (0 km reckoned at Manali) in Himachal Pradesh and the Leh and Ladakh regions of Jammu & Kashmir.
