The foundation stone for the Barmer refinery-cum-petrochemical project in Rajasthan is likely to be laid by September 2017. The state government is likely to sign the land lease deed agreement with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited for the project soon. The project involves the setting up a 9 million tonne per annum (mtpa) oil refinery-cum-petrochemical complex in Barmer district. The state government will own a stake in the project through Rajasthan State Refinery Limited. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 431.12 billion.
