As per the information reported to and tracked by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), a total of 27,482 cases of cyber- security breaches have been reported in 2017 (till June). These include cases of phishing, scanning/probing, website intrusions and defacements, virus/malicious code, ransomware, denial-of-service attacks, etc. In a bid to curb these incidents, CERT-In has been issuing tailored alerts to key organisations in the public and private sector regarding the latest cyberthreats and countermeasures.
