The Bihar government has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) for promoting regional air connectivity in the state under the RCS. As per the MoU, the MoCA will develop a network of six regional airports – Purnea, Bhagalpur, Darbhanga, Saharsa, Gaya and Valmikinagar. Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has signed an MoU with the Uttarakhand government to foster aviation development in the state. The scope of the MoU is to identify relevant factors influencing the development of civil aviation infrastructure in Uttarakhand, assessing the commercial potential of various airports in the state, identifying technical considerations for airport operations, estimating the capital outlay for future projects and developing a master plan for existing and future civil aviation infrastructure in the state, among others.
