Union cabinet approves revalidation of permission to raise EBRs as GoI bonds

The Union cabinet has approved the revalidation of the permission to raise extr budgetary resources of Rs 6.6 billion as Government of India bonds by the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) in 2017-18. The proceeds from the bonds will be utilised by the IWAI for the development and maintenance of national waterways under the National Waterways Act, 2016 (effective from April 12, 2016).
