The V.O. Chidambaranar Port Trust has signed an MoU with Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO) for the upgradation of coal jetties (CJ) I and II. The combined estimated capacity of CJ I and II will be 12 million tonnes per annum. The upgraded coal jetties are expected to cater to the coal requirement of TANGEDCO’s existing thermal power stations (TPSs) and the upcoming TPSs at Uppur and Kadaladi.
