BSNL has partnered with Coriant to undertake research and deploy 5G-based industrial internet applications for enterprises. Coriant will leverage 5G technology and its design network architecture to facilitate service innovation for enterprises. The arrangement currently is not on a commercial basis. However, Coriant expects to provide the technology to BSNL subscribers after the commencement of 5G roll-out. Meanwhile, BSNL has sought spectrum from the government in the 700 MHz band for offering 4G and 5G services. It is also planning to start 5G trials in collaboration with Nokia.
