The Visakhapatnam Port Trust (VPT) has opened radio frequency identification (RFID) access gates at East Quay-7 and GCB gate at the port premises. The key objectives of the proposed RFID access gate is to enhance security at all gates, automate and speed up port activity, enhance visibility of activities in and around the port area and to comply with the International Ship and Port Security Code.
