The MoPNG has stated that the daily revision in petrol and diesel prices will continue despite petrol prices rising by Rs 6.60 per litre since July. As per the ministry, the daily revision in petrol and diesel prices immediately passes on the benefit of any reduction in international oil prices to consumers and avoids sharp spikes by spreading the price changes. In the reverse scenario, when international oil rates rise, petrol prices are hiked by a few paise per day. Further, these rate changes are being done on a transparent basis and city-wise prices are available through SMS.
