Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Private Limited (BMCTPL) has signed an MoU with PNP Maritime Services Private Limited for handling a regular container barge service between Dharamtar port and the Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal (BMCT) at JNPT from end-2017. With the opening of Phase I of BMCT, which is JNPT’s fourth container terminal, PNP will restart a daily barge service between BMCT and their facility in Dharamtar with an 80 twenty-foot equivalent unit barge, offering cargo owners cost and time savings, as well as a more environment friendly and reliable transportation option.
