IR plans to launch 100 new local train services on its Mumbai suburban network of the Western Railway and Central Railway zones which will increase the total suburban services in Mumbai from the existing 2,983 to 3,083. Of the 100 services, 32 new services will be introduced on Western Railway while 68 services will be introduced on Central Railway.
