MoU signed for Mumbai-Nagpur expressway

The Maharashtra government has signed an MoU with the South Korean government for the Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway project. As per the MoU, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Limited (MSRDCL) and the Korea Expressway Corporation will constitute an SPV for planning and executing the project. The project involves the construction of a communication expressway from Nagpur to Mumbai, passing through Ghoti, Aurangabad and Amravati and connecting the regions of Vidarbha, Marathwada and north Maharashtra. MSRDCL is implementing the project in partnership with the central government. It is proposed to be implemented on an engineering, procurement and construction basis at an estimated cost of Rs 460 billion.
