NHAI has created a new Highway Operations Division which will focus on all non-commercial highway operational activities for efficient network utilisation and the provision of hassle-free services. The new division will be headed by a member and assisted by a chief general manager and a team of experienced officers. The division will be in charge of electronic tolling, wayside amenities, road safety and security, incident management helpline, tracking ambulances and cranes on highways, highway traffic management systems, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan initiatives, highway plantation, road lighting, and the availability of Wi-Fi and other modern amenities on national highways.
