Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) and Spark Bresson Private Limited have signed a PPA at Rs 6.90 per unit for the implementation of the Kuberpurwaste-to-energy plant project in the state. The project is being implemented by the Agra Municipal Corporation (AMC) at an estimated cost of Rs 3.5 billion. Under the project, the AMC is expected to provide at least 500 tonnes per day of solid waste, which will be processed to produce 10 MW of electricity. Work on the project is likely to commence in November 2017 and has an implementation period of 18 months.
