Water board extends the deadline for Odisha Integrated Sanitation Improvement Project

The Odisha Water Supply and Sewerage Board has extended the deadline for the Odisha Integrated Sanitation Improvement Project. The project will now be completed by December 2018. The scope of project works includes the construction of 632 km of sewerage networks (252 km in Bhubaneswar and 380 km in Cuttack), three STPs (two in Cuttack and one in Bhubaneswar), 48 pumping stations and seven sluice gates. The project entails a total cost of Rs 29.74 billion, of which Rs 23.8 billion (80 per cent) is being funded by JICA. At present, about 50 per cent of all works under the Odisha Integrated Sanitation Improvement Project have been completed.
