Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation receives state government approval for drainage project

The Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) in Maharashtra has received state government approval to implement a Rs 1.48 billion drainage project under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation. The project entails laying 210 km of pipelines in the city and will be completed in two years’ time. The project is going to be jointly funded by the PCMC (Rs 739.2 million), the state government (Rs 246.4 million) and the centre (Rs 492.8 million). Of the state and central funds, 20 per cent will be disbursed after the civic agency issues the work order for the civil works.
