KfW, the German development bank, will provide a Rs 11.5 billion loan to the Uttarakhand government to implement projects under the Namami Gange programme. The loan will be utilised to set up a network of sewerage lines along the Ganga in the cities of Haridwar, Rishikesh, Dehradun, Mussoorie and Tapovan. The project is expected to reduce pollution in the Ganga river.
