The Bombay High Court has restrained the Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) from invoking the bank guarantee of the Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) on a three-year dredging work (2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20). The dredging contract was awarded to DCI in 2017 and was later terminated in April 2018. The high court has also prevented the port trust from opening the financial bids invited to carry out the dredging works for the remaining two years. Reportedly, MbPT did not take the high court’s order into account and opened the financial bids placed by Van Oord Dredging and Marine Contractors B.V.
