The Chennai Port Trust has decided to grant a flat concession of 70 per cent on vessel-related charges in the port’s scale of rates for coastal vessels carrying transshipment containers. According to the decision, the concession will be increased to 80 per cent if a particular service crosses 25 voyages in a year. Likewise, for foreign vessels, a concession of 5 per cent on vessel-related charges will be given in addition to the existing concessions while handling transshipment containers.
