The Gujarat government has notified its Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Policy, 2018. The policy aims at the optimum utilisation of land and grid infrastructure and will remain in force for a period of five years. Under the policy, developers can set up wind energy units on the land currently in use by solar power units and vice versa. Further, the policy will enable both wind and solar developers to use a common transmission line for power evacuation.
