The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is likely to set a base price of Rs 68 billion for the second tranche of road projects to be auctioned under the toll-operate-transfer (TOT) model. Reportedly, bids for the second tranche are expected to be invited by end July 2018. The second bundle comprises seven stretches of operational toll roads spanning a total of 566 km across Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Rajasthan and Gujarat. Further, detailed project reports are being prepared for another two bundles which are likely to be auctioned by end 2018. The road projects to be sanctioned under the third bundle span 479 km across Odisha, West Bengal, Assam and Bihar, while those under the fourth bundle span 658 km in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand. The MoRTH expects to raise a total amount of Rs 135 billion through the three rounds of TOT auctions.
