Airtel gets FDI clearance to sell stake in DTH unit to Warburg Pincus

The government has given foreign direct investment clearance to Bharti Airtel for the sale of its 20 per cent share in Bharti Telemedia to Warburg Pincus for $350 million. This deal was initially announced in December 2017. As per the deal, Bharti Airtel will sell its 15 per cent stake in the direct-to-home (DTH) arm, and another Bharti entity will sell a 5 per cent stake in the company.
