CCEA approves construction of new four-lane bridge on Kosi river at Phulaut, Bihar

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the project for the construction of a new four-lane, 6.93 km bridge at Phulaut in Bihar. It has also approved the rehabilitation and upgradation of the existing 30 km Birpur-Bihpur section from km 106 to km 136 of NH-106 to two lanes with paved shoulders at a capital cost of Rs 14.78 billion. The construction period for the project is three years and it is likely to be completed by June 2022. The new bridge will reduce the distance between Phulaut and Bihpur to 12 km.
