ISRO launches GSAT-29 and GSAT-11 satellites to improve connectivity

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched the GSAT-29 satellite from Sriharikota. The satellite will help meet the communication needs of people in remote areas in the Northeast and Jammu & Kashmir. Further, ISRO has launched a multi-band communication satellite, GSAT-11, from the Kourou spaceport in French Guiana, France. According to DoT, the launch of GSAT-11 will help in providing high speed internet connectivity in the north-eastern states and hilly regions of the country and will give a boost to BharatNet.
