CDPQ rejigs India energy portfolio, exits power platform

Canadian pension fund Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) has sold its stake, held through wholly owned subsidiary CDP Groupe Infrastructures, in Resurgent Power Ventures Pte Limited to the sovereign wealth funds of Oman and Kuwait. Resurgent had a total corpus of $850 million at the time of the launch. Of this, CDPQ and the sovereign funds of Oman and Kuwait had contributed $650 million. Resurgent Power was set up to acquire distressed thermal power projects. In August 2018, it acquired a majority stake in Prayagraj Power Generation Company Limited.
