DoT has awarded an in-flight, maritime connectivity (IFMC) licence to Indo Teleports Limited (ITL), a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel. As per DoT, all foreign personnel likely to be engaged by ITL for installation, operation and maintenance of the IFMC service will have to go through a security clearance, which will be conducted by the home ministry before deployment.
