Work for Phase I of the water supply augmentation project in Ranchi begins

The construction work of the Ranchi Water Supply Scheme [WSS] Augmentation Project, Phase I, has commenced. Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is implementing the project in Jharkhand under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation. It involves augmentation and strengthening of the Ranchi WSS by construction of elevated service reservoirs, supply and laying of clear water rising main and distribution of house service connections including water meters, setting up of a centralised supervisory control and data acquisition centre along with repair of the existing ground-level storage reservoir. It also includes O&M for five years. The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 2,908 million and is expected to be completed by January 2021.
