Refinery-cum-petrochemical complex to be set up at Pachpadra, Rajasthan

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited is setting up a 9 mtpa refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at a cost of Rs 431.29 billion at Pachpadra in Barmer district of Rajasthan. In addition to motor spirit and diesel, the refinery envisages production of products such as ethylene and propylene derivatives. These derivatives are used as feedstock in various ancillary industries including packaging, textiles and petrochemicals. The mega refinery project is likely to provide direct employment to around 1,500 skilled persons and is expected to generate indirect employment for 30,000 workers during the construction stage.
