Vadodara-JNPT section under DFC awarded to L&T Construction and Sojitz Group

The consortium of L&T Construction and the Sojitz Group has won a contract worth Rs 12.13 billion for the Vadodara-JNPT section (422 km) of the DFC (western corridor) Project on January 22, 2016. The contract involves the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 2×25 kV OHE, traction substations, auxiliary stations, switching stations, auto transformer stations and a supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA), on a design-build-lump sum price basis. Bids for the project were invited in September 2014. The work is likely to be completed in 42 months. The scope of the contract includes construction of seven traction substations, of which one will be geographic information system based, 40 switching stations, 897 km track of OHE, SCADA works at 12 stations and an operational control centre along with the supply of all associated equipment.
